What impressed me?
- There is ample parking available in front of the temple, something that is not easy to get in Bengaluru.
- The temple premises are consistently tidy, with frequent cleaning.
- Prasad, the sacred offering, is distributed without fail, whether morning or evening. In my numerous visits to the temple, I have never left without receiving Prasad.
- Washbasins are conveniently located for cleaning hands after partaking of Prasad, and drinking water is readily available.
Caution: On rainy days, watch out for slippery floors when entering the temple. Occasionally, cleaning activities may be ongoing, resulting in wet floors.

VisiTips for Surya Narayana Temple
For a peaceful exploration of the temple with ample time, it is advisable to visit on weekdays, either in the morning or evening to witness the illuminated grandeur.
- Upon nearing the temple entrance, taps are provided on the left-hand side for washing hands and feet.
- Upon entering the temple, the natural inclination may be to proceed directly for darshan (sight) of the main deity, Lord Surya Narayana. However, it’s recommended to pause. Immediately after entering, to the left, you’ll encounter four deities: Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Lord Sesha Narayana, and Lord Shiva.
- Begin your worship with Lord Ganesh and then proceed to Lord Shiva. From there, ascend the stairs to the main sanctum, where Lord Surya Narayana resides. Inside, the walls are adorned with paintings depicting scenes from the Ramayana and other deities. Do not forget to collect your Prasad
- Upon exiting, directly opposite, you’ll find the Surya Vamsh Rama shrine.
- Next proceed to the shrine of Vaishnavi Devi to the right of the Lord Surya Narayana sanctum, then to the shrine of Shani Mahatma on the left.
- Throughout the temple’s wall periphery, you’ll encounter paintings depicting various Gods and significant events from Hindu mythology.
- You can enjoy the paintings and move to Navagraha Sannidhi which is onto the right of the main exit.
Note: The worship sequence described above reflects personal practice. Visitors are encouraged to adapt or follow the sequence aligning to their customs and beliefs.
The only observation is that the temple has lot of steps making it difficult for elders to come. It also does not have options for movement of people with disability,
